Ernie Shipman

Ernie founded Renaissance Firearms in 2003 to combine his passion for firearms with a business that could support his family. He already operated Renaissance Signs in Gonic, New Hampshire, and that became the location of the gun shop for over a decade. In 2016, a fire destroyed the buildings adjacent to the shop forced Renaissance Firearms to move. It turned out to be a blessing-in-disguise – the shop expanded to a much larger location in Barrington, NH and the store has grown considerably.

Ernie is fond of destination hunting and has completed two successful African safari trips with many more to come! He jokingly declares favorite firearm of all time is "whatever gun is in his hand." When available, however, he prefers Beretta, Sako and vintage Colts.

Ernie's goal is simple: to operate the best gun shop and to serve customers as he would like to be served.

Lauren Jones

Lauren Jones is the Business Manager at Renaissance Firearms and part of the team since 2015. She has been working in the Firearm industry since 2010 and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. She has 12-years’ experience in a retail setting and 27 years of being AWESOME. Her firearm of choice is the Beretta M9A3. She loves the ergonomics and how well it shoots. She lives in Southern Maine with her husband, daughter and two Chihuahuas. Her family is her whole world and she likes to spend all her down time with them. She loves watching cooking shows, they have inspired her to start cooking more (her husband appreciates this.) She played sports all through school and has a strong competitive side. This works perfectly in the shooting world.

Bill Brouse

Bill Brouse is Sales Manager at Renaissance Firearms. He is married to his wonderful wife Katie, and they have two daughters who love the outdoors. Bill has been with the company since mid 2016, and feels like he has found his "forever home".  Past experience with firearms includes, executive protection, military, law enforcement, instruction (kids and adults), hunting, and retail sales. If he could have only one firearm, it would be a Beretta Extrema 12 ga. Bill's hobbies are hunting and fishing, home projects (first house!), and time with friends and family!

Bruce Henderson

Bruce handles shipping/receiving and Internet sales at Renaissance. He has been with the company since 2010 and has tremendous knowledge and experience with shipping and transferring firearms throughout the US.  Bruce is fond of "micro-sized" auto pistols and currently favors the Glock 43.  He's a history buff and spends his leisure time on "SRS": singing, reading and shooting!

Stuart Rainey

Stuart has worked at Renaissance Firearms since 2013 as a sales associate. He has been a firearms hobbyist for many years, enjoying sports shooting and sharing information with the gun community. Although a favorite firearm is difficult to pinpoint, Stu enjoys shooting 1911 single action pistols. When not shooting firearms, he can usually be found shooting competitive billiards. Aside from firearms and billiards, Stuart also dabbles with playing piano and guitar.

Greg Allen

Greg works on the sales floor at Renaissance. He self-describes his job as “trying to sell guns so I don't buy them!” Firearms have been a part of Greg's family for a long time - he grew up with firearms safety and developed a love for shooting. He is an Eagle Scout, has completed several NRA and Sig Sauer Academy courses and currently studies criminal justice. In addition to 'anything that goes bang,' Greg loves his CZ pistol!

Emilia Huizenga

Emilia Huizenga has grown up around firearms with her first firearm being a Winchester rifle. She has worked in retail since 2014 with a strong interest in visual display and marketing. Although she grew up with Renaissance Firearms being in her family she started working for them in the fall of 2016 doing visual merchandizing displays and assisting the business manager. Her firearm of choice is a Glock 42 because of its dependability and ergonomics. She also enjoys a Luger 22 for plinking. Her interests include baking, knitting, and bullet journaling. She lives in southern New Hampshire with her husband.

Jacob Boisvert

Jacob is a sales associate at Renaissance. As a New Hampshire-native transplanted to Maine, he thoroughly enjoys hunting, shooting and fishing! In addition to his military experience, Jacob's spent time with Sig Sauer's manufacturing department which equipped him with a considerable amount of firearms knowledge and experience. Jacob lives with his wife Leah and describes his favorite firearm as a Marlin 1895 45-70.

Zachary Kidd

Zachary Kidd is one of our newer Sales Associates. He has been a gun lover since he was of age and has been shooting for 4 years. His favorite firearm is the Full Size 1911A1-70 Series. He is currently a sophomore in college at UNH, an avid plinker and dog lover. He enjoys target shooting, snowboarding as well as video games and is a German car enthusiast.

 

Store Policies

Price Match

For firearms and optics: If, within 30 days of the date of sale, you find the identical item advertised at a store within 50 miles at a lower price, we will refund the difference plus 10% in store credit.

Satistaction

Our 10-day satisfaction policy: If you are not completely satisfied with your new or used firearm purchase within the first 10 days, we will refund 100% of the purchase price in store credit.

Service

On any new or used firearm (except "as-is") needing repair within the first year, we will, at our discretion: repair, replace or refund the purchase price in store credit. Willful abuse excepted.

Courtesy Holds

We will happily place a courtesy hold on any item for 24-hours. Simply call the shop and talk to one of our sales staff about the item you wish to purchase.

Silencers/NFA

Silencers (or suppressors) are LEGAL to own in most states (including NH) and are also fun and considered hearing protection safety gear by many in the industry. Renaissance Firearms is a fully-licensed NFA dealer and we sell some of the hottest and most technologically advanced suppressors in the industry!

Lay-a-Ways

We have a 45-day lay-a-way policy on firearms and optics. A 20% deposit is due at the inception of the lay-a-way.
